Paul Ohren-Bird’s rallying career started in 1986 when he joined a local motor club, Blackbird Auto Club (BAC) through his brother – in – law.

As a driver in his Ford Escort MK1 1600cc, Paul won various local navigational road rallies on BAC events but also organised various events giving him a solid understanding of rally navigation and event management.

In 1995 Paul decided to swap seats and went down the route of co-driving on special stage events, a decision that proved to be a massive turning point in his rallying career.

With various finishes in 1995 and 1996, Paul was granted his International Competition Licence in July 1996.

Paul Joined East Midlands Rally Team (EMRT) as co-driver in 1996 and in November of that year competed on the famous Network Q RAC Rally. Over the forthcoming years he competed in various championships and become director of EMRT in 2002. In 2008 he left EMRT to set up OB Rallying and Motorsport as director and team co-driver. Much of Paul’s early success came with drivers Bill Douglas and Tim Daltry. The partnership with Tim proved very successful as in 2009 Paul Came 3rd Overall in the MSA British National Championship. A result that was impressive as the car used was the Peugeot 205 Gti 1600cc beating many of the modern Rally Cars. More recently he has achieved further impressive results.

Paul is well-respected in the rallying world and has competed in and won several national championships in the role of co-driver. During 26 years of competing, he has been competing nationally and internationally with outstanding results and wins in many championships and rallies. Paul has competed in many high profile rallies and has been a feature on many world, European and UK Championships while captured on Motors TV, Eurosport and Sky TV.
